Mega Lamborghini Fest in St. Moritz [with Videos]

More than 100 Lamborghini supercars of all types and ages made their way to Switzerland this past weekend (June 18-20) for this year's edition of the annual 'Lamborghini St. Moritz' event. The driving programme included a route through the scenic Julierpass and Fluelapass to Davos.

According to the Italian company, at least one of every current Lamborghini model was present, including the most recently launched Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera that led the road tour in convoy out of St. Moritz, a 1973 Miura Jota, a 1980s Jalpa and even the famed Gallardo police car, provided by the Polizia di Stato (Italian State Police). Videos after the break.

Interested? 1987 Buick GNX with Only 5,000 Miles on the Odo

One of the 547 Buick GNX muscle cars that GM built in 1987 has been listed for sale by a Las Vegas dealer. Cleverly described by C&D in its days as "Darth Vader's Ride", the GNX is a rare gem, even more so if it has a mere 5,000 miles on the odometer like this example that's priced at US$95,000.

When it came out in 1987, which was the only year it was offered for sale, the Buick GNX was the fastest production car in GM's range (Corvette included) thanks to its 3.8-liter force-fed V6 engine that was factory (under)rated at 276HP and 360 lb-ft. Power was sent to the rear wheels through a modified four-speed automatic transmission.

Rare Find of the Day: Mid-Engined 1987 Zimmer Quicksilver

Here's another rare oddity found for sale on eBay Motors. The long-nose Zimmer Quicksilver is a custom made coupe with a mid-mounted V6 engine. And yes, as you may have already guessed, it's based on GM's Pontiac Fiero. The car's retro styling takes its inspiration from glitzy Lincoln and Cadillac models of the 1970s.

An array of historic Porsche race cars will make their way at this at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed that takes place in the UK from 2 to 4 July. The German automaker said that it will be bringing some of the victorious sports cars from the Targa Florio road race in Sicily, as well as the Porsche 917 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1970 win at Le Mans.

Chrysler Bids Farewell to Iconic PT Cruiser, Last Model Rolls Off Assembly Line in Mexico

Only a week after the last Dodge Viper rolled off the line at the Conner Avenue plant in Detroit, production of another iconic Chrysler LLC group model, the PT Cruiser, is coming to an end today at the Toluca plant in Mexico. But unlike with the Viper, Chrysler isn't making much of a big deal about the PT Cruiser's end as the company hasn't even bothered to issue an official press release - or at least it hasn't done so up until now.

Originally conceived as a Plymouth model, the retro-shaped and styled compact crossover ended up in the market in 2000 with the Chrysler badge. Its love-it-or-loathe-it design was the work of Brian Nesbit who later on joined GM creating the very-PT Cruiser-like, Chevrolet HHR.

Even though the PT Cruiser was conceived more as an attention-grabber than a high-volume seller, the surprisingly practical crossover turned out to be so successful that buyers were kept on waiting lists. For a while it was the best-selling Chrysler-brand vehicle," Jim Hall, managing director of consultancy 2953 Analytics, told the L.A. Times.

Lincoln Concept Models Including MK9 and Mark X Going up for Auction

If you're looking to add a Lincoln concept model to your collection, here's your chance as a total of five design studies from the past decade will be offered for sale by Ford Motor Company at the RM's Sports & Classics of Monterey auction on August 12th. The proceeds raised through the sale will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Children's Center, an organization that is based in Michigan, USA.

The five Lincoln concept models up for sale are the 2001 MK9 coupe; 2004 Aviator SUV; 2005 MKS sedan; 2003 Navicross coupe crossover and last but not least, the Mark X which was a hardtop-convertible proposal for Lincoln's version of the Ford Thunderbird.

Bear in mind that even though all cars except the Navicross have are drivable, none can be registered for highway use in the States. Follow the break for a short description (from RM) and pricing estimates for each concept model.

Mercury's 2003 Messenger Sports Coupe Concept also up for Sale

The five Lincoln concept models that we told you about on Friday will be joined by the 2003 Mercury Messenger concept at the RM's Sports & Classics of Monterey auction on August 12th.

The two-seater sports coupe prototype of the soon-to-be discontinued Mercury brand broke cover at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit back in 2003. It was supposed to herald a new and more stylish design language for the company while some had also suggested that it may inspire a production model - unfortunately for Mercury, that never happened.

Influenced by the Cougars of the late sixties with a rakish roofline that recalls Ford's GT supercar, the rear-wheel drive Messenger Coupe was designed to be powered by the Dearborn automaker's familiar 4.6 liter V8 engine (the study is not fitted with a powertrain). The folks over at RM Auctions estimate that the Messenger can fetch between US$75,000 and $100,000.

It Came From eBay Hell: 1993 Jaguar XJ6 Airport Limousine

In the glory days of air travel when you could still smoke and fly without the fear of being groped and fondled by security personnel wearing latex gloves some passengers were lucky enough to commute from the terminal to their hotel in the back of an airport limousine.
These stretched cars, with their multiple rows of seats and doors, were essentially the primitive precursor to the modern day shuttle bus.

Porsche Restored 1973 US-Spec 911 T Coupe Awaits Lucky Owner

One of the main attractions of the Porsche Club of Americas (PCA) parade in Savannah, Georgia from July 31 to August 7, will be a fully restored, US-Spec 1973 911 T Coupe. Whats more, one lucky winner of a raffle will get to own it.
The idea behind the Revive the Passion project, as the restoration process was named, came up four years ago in Daytona and involved offering a classic, instead of a new car, to the winner of the raffle. The search begun and the suitable car was found near LA. It was then presented at the 2010 edition of the Porsche Parade event.

It Came From eBay Hell: Mercury Cougar Based Bugatti Veyron Replica

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Of all the cars Ive featured in It Came From eBay Hell, this one takes the cake. Its a 2002 Mercury Cougar with 120,000 miles (193,120 kilometres) on the clock, though thats not what makes it special. No, what makes it special is the composite and fibreglass Bugatti Veyron body draped over it.
Thats right: its a Cougatti Vercuryon! Not only does this modern masterpiece come with (Walmart Brand) 20-inch rims, two-tone paint and leather everything, it also comes with all the stuff that made the Mercury Cougar the modern classic it is today

Ford Mustang Exotica Hides an Aston Martin Vanquish V12 Under its Hood [with Video]

Were pretty sure that, during the time Aston Martin was under the ownership of Ford, the thought of stuffing an exotic V12 powerplant under the bonnet of a Mustang must have crossed the mind of a few company engineers.
And while we never saw something of the sort officially from Ford, an independent custom shop actually realized the idea with the 2005 Ford Mustang 'Vanquishd' show car that was presented at the 2006 SEMA aftermarket gathering.
Built by Western Motorsports, this one-of-a-kind Mustang gets a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 600 ponies from a 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish. Power is sent to the chunky rear wheels through a 6 speed manual Tremec T-56 transmission.

It Came From eBay Hell: Triumph TR3 with an Italian Body and an American Heart

Much like Christine in the Stephen King novel of the same name, this 1957 Triumph TR3 Special began life as nothing more than acar. Since then its mutated into this thing that sports a faux-Ferrari body and a Chevy 350 V8 under the hood.

Germanys Edag Fuldamobil Meets 21st Century Retro Chic

If the Germans ever needed a word for, three wheeled death trap chances are that word would be Fuldamobil. It was a strange-looking microcar with seating for two and a face like a fish and built under licence in the UK, Chile, Argentina, the Netherlands, Sweden, Greece, India and South Africa as well as its native Germany.
It was sort of like an Isetta crossed with a Peel P50 and, contrary to what you might think, was said to be a great success at the time of its inception.

Fiat to Display 21.7-liter Mefistofele and 500 by Gucci at Goodwood Festival

Fiats major attraction in this years Goodwood Speed of Festival, which begins tomorrow, will be the famous Mefistofele. The record-breaking classic, which is based on a 1908 Fiat SB4 Corsa, returns after a decade to Goodwood and will be displayed in the Cathedral Paddock area.
