2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Review

"The CTS-V Coupe combines our technology the most powerful and advanced design of our production the most dramatic," says Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager. "This combination of features and visual techniques are designed to create a very compelling choice for consumers of luxury sports."

CTS-V coupe will start production this summer. In a series of technical and performance elements include Magnetic Ride Control, race-bred Brembo brakes and available paddle-shift automatic transmission control.

La Copa V-Series includes a unique grille that doubles the volume of car air intake, an important factor for its high-performance capabilities. Also be visually identified by a central section of the deck provides space for the compressor, and front and rear specific. As the CTS Coupe, the exhaust pipe is centered inside the rear fascia, but with single points of twins. The car rolls on 19-inch wheels made of cast aluminum, available in polished or painted, and the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires for high performance.

CTS-V Coupe rear track is almost an inch wider than the sedan CTS-V Sport, which contributes to the aggressive stance of the car and give an extra measure of handling capacity. The current CTS-V Sport Sedan has quickly established itself among the highest in the world of luxury sedans from the scene, the first production four-door tires on the streets to break the legendary 8-minute barrier at Nurburgring famous d Germany. The new V-Series coupe is smoother and the shape of slightly less mass to ensure a comparably high standard of performance.

Inside the cockpit combines performance and luxury 2 +2. The new interior color saffron is offered, in contrast color seat inserts and stitching microfiber cloth on top cut areas.

Design follows function.

The design of the CTS-V Coupe is a clear statement of vision and technical precision to the car's performance.

The coupe has the same wheelbase as the CTS-V Sport sedan, but its overall height is about two inches (51 mm) lower and its total length is two inches (51 mm) shorter. The two models share the dashboard, console, headlamps, front fenders and grille.

The main design features are:

• A classic ceiling without conventional B-pillar

• The operation of the doors touchpad eliminates the need for conventional door handles

• The faster windshield angle (62.3 degrees) and a nearly horizontal backglass allows an airfoil

• Signature can direct lighting, highlighted with LED tubes

• Signature center high-mounted brake light and spoiler

• aerodynamic roof-mounted antenna for OnStar and XM Satellite Radio

Supercharged engine.

The 6.2-liter CTS-V Coupe uses the LSA supercharged V-8 engine also found in the CTS-V sports sedan. Rated at 556 horsepower (415 kW) and 551 lb.-ft. of torque (747 Nm) is the most powerful engine offered in Cadillac's history and propels the CTS-V Coupe 0-60 mph in 3, 9 seconds .

LSA engine is equipped with an inter-cooled compressor Eaton, head of premium aluminum alloy cylinder and many details to ensure it makes its power as quietly and smoothly as possible. The compressor, for example, has a unique rotor design with four lobes that improves the calm while optimizing engine parameters.

A pair of six-speed transmissions are offered by CTS-V Coupe: Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with twin plate clutch and the Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic paddle-shift control. Algorithm performance is part of the move 6L90 programming and provides a performance-oriented shift pattern during a continuous high-performance driving. How many of the Cadillac models, the driver only has to slide the transmission into manual "door" to put that more aggressive diversion.

Control the steering wheel does not require moving the shift lever. Steering wheel controls, thumb through a direct and fast way to use up / down gear selection.

Magnetic Ride Control.

Series V when the elite levels of grip performance, but also maintains the balance of the luxury car in "normal" driving. The catalyst technology for the character of conduct is dual-mode Magnetic Ride Cadillac historical control. It is standard on the CTS-V Coupe, and is the technology of the world's fastest-reacting suspension. It uses shocks controlled by Advanced magneto-rheological technology, rather than mechanical valves, greatly accelerating response time and accuracy.

Electronic sensors on all four wheels literally "read the road" every millisecond, making adjustments constantly damping to create a command almost instantaneous and extremely precise movements of the body. This is particularly advantageous for a high performance car, as it helps to keep the car very composed when cornering hard acceleration, braking and other dynamic maneuvers.

Magnetic Ride dampers also allows a wider range of damping control to optimize ride and handling in all driving conditions. The CTS-V Coupe, the additional control measures are offered, two selectable (Tour and Sport), which allows the driver to tailor the suspension for Gran Turismo or more mental performance driving.

Brake and tire systems.

CTS-V includes sophisticated braking and tire systems, in collaboration with two companies renown for high-performance technology: Brembo and Michelin. Brembo brakes are at all four corners and include powerful six-piston calipers in the front calipers and four-piston rear.

Ventilated and grooved discs provide a strong initial braking force, while optimizing the thermal and remove discoloration. Brembo brake discs use a "double-cast" technology that combines cast iron and aluminum, resulting in excellent performance and reduced weight. CTS-V also includes an electric parking brake, allowing more space for the driver, the key to high performance driving.

Michelin worked with Cadillac engineers to develop its acclaimed Pilot Sport PS2 summer tires CTS-V and its exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels. Rings supported by high-grip track conditions, giving a good performance on the road.

Interior.
Driving performance Recaro seats are optional in the CTS-V Coupe and provides excellent support for the conduct lively. These 14 seats include adjustable and performance tires tighten controls in the seat cushions and folders.

The CTS-V Coupe also includes an exclusive new option for the interior of saffron with an accent color that contrasts with the insertions of the seams of the seat, which highlights the experience of the dashboard, center console, door panels and seats.

The steering wheel, seat rings and the lever are covered in microfiber, nature provided the luxury of smooth suede inherent sensitivity to difficult health and moisture. These details are standard, elegant to the touch and help support high-performance driving.

Center console of the car is covered in obsidian black material is also used in the center console and door panels. Like every CTS, the V-series is hand-stitched instrument panel, door panels and center console. Cutting-edge infotainment features extend to the V-series. They include the 40-gigabyte hard drive, advanced navigation system for entering and displaying Bose digital surround sound, as well as factory-installed Bluetooth phone integration, all standard features of the V-series.
