2012 Honda Civic to Start Under $16,000

2012CivicHybrid carmax.blogspot.com news and review honda civic
This morning, we got our first read on how good the redesigned Honda Civic is from senior editor Joe Wiesenfelder in his full review. Now, we get to answer that all-important question of the cars value. It turns out pricing will remain nearly identical to the current 2011 model. The 2012 goes on sale today.
The entry-level 2012 DX sedan with a five-speed manual transmission will start at $15,805 excluding $750 in destination charges. Thats the same price of the 2011. To get the advertised 39 mpg highway, youll need to add a five-speed automatic transmission, which costs $800 for most trims. Its important to note that the DX remains a model that doesnt have air conditioning standard, or a radio or cruise control, but it does have power windows.
Buyers will have to move up to the LX trim level of the sedan at $17,855 with the manual transmission $100 more than the 2011 to get standard features such as air conditioning, cruise control, USB input and remote entry. Bluetooth is standard only on EX and higher trim levels and is not available on the LX, however.
The new high-efficiency HF trim level returns 29/41 mpg city/highway and will cost $19,455 with the automatic transmission standard, $800 more than the automatic LX and similarly equipped.
The sedan range tops out at $23,455 for an EX-L with leather and Hondas new navigation system. Thats $500 less than the 2011 EX-L with the navigation option.
The hybrid which now gets 44 mpg combined, compared with the Toyota Prius 50 mpg starts at $24,050, which is $500 more than a Prius.
Full pricing for the entire sedan and coupe lineup, including the performance-oriented Si, are below.
